Encouragement in times of Crisis

Bible Verses and Prayers on Fear:

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)

Prayer: Thank you God that your promise is to be with me. To be my God. To strengthen me. To help me. I know this is true, but I feel weak right now. Hold me in your strong and very capable hands. In Jesus name, Amen.

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7)

Prayer: Jesus, to be honest, I am afraid right now. But you are telling me this spirit of fear does not come from you. Help me to know that you give me a spirit of power instead. Help me receive your love and sound mind right now. In Jesus name, Amen.

Bible Verses and Prayers on Peace:

“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7)

Prayer: Father, I do not understand what is happening. I am not at peace. My heart feels exposed. Thank you that you cover me with a peace that makes up for what I do not understand. Please guard my heart from becoming overwhelmed and believing lies. I need you, Lord. In Jesus name, Amen.

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace.” (Colossians 3:15)

Prayer: God, for your peace to rule in my heart, I know I have to let go. To trust you really are God. To give you all of me. Please help me do to this so your peace can rule over every part of me. This is your plan for me, and I want it. In Jesus name, Amen.

Bible Verses and Prayers on Anxiety:

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18)

Prayer: Lord God, thank you that even though my heart feels broken right now, you are closer than ever! The anxiety I feel is crushing me, but you lift every heavy burden off my shoulders. You are with me. Please help me walk in your freedom. In Jesus name, Amen.

“An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up.” (Proverbs 12:25)

Prayer: God, what a simple but great reminder! Though my heart weighs heavy, kind words cheer me up. Please speak your love over me now. Help me only be around life-giving people and news. Help me focus only on you. In Jesus name, Amen.
